Week of September 19th

Read Luke 24:45 together:

“And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.”

Discussion Questions:

1. Who opened their minds to the Scriptures? (God, Himself)

2. Who do we need in our lives to actually understand anything in His Word? (The Holy Spirit)

Practical:

As you continue to dive into God’s Word today, first invite the Holy Spirit in and ask Him for His understanding, not your own.

Week of September 26th

Read Hebrews 4:12 together:

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Discussion Questions:

1. Does God’s Word ever change? (No!)

2. What does it mean that “The Word of God is living and active?” Discuss this together.

Practical:

Never say, “I’ve read the Bible, now I can check that off my list!” God’s Word is living and active—it NEVER changes, but when our circumstances, change His Word will speak to us in different ways. God’s Word never changes, but we do!
