On behalf of our entire church, welcome to the family of God.
Your sins are forgiven!
There is no greater decision than to trust by faith that Jesus died on the cross and rose again to give you an abundant life on earth and an eternal life with Him! We are so excited for this step of faith and are here to help you GROW and GO forward in your journey with Him. We believe we are called to glorify God together through L.I.F.E.
LEARNING THE WORD — Study"Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God..." — Matthew 4:4
In order for us to become strong and healthy disciples of Christ, we need to hunger and thirst for the Word of God. Just as food gives our body the strength to accomplish the tasks of the day, so the Word of God gives us the ability to learn how Jesus desires us to live and gives us the strength to do what He is asking. In this case, we need to make a practice of spending time in the Word of God. To start with, spend about the amount of time it takes to make lunch and eat it. As you “eat,” you will begin growing an appetite for the Word!
INVESTING INTO RELATIONSHIPS — Fellowship"They will know you are my disciples by your love for one another..." — John 13:35
Your decision of faith has welcomed you into the family of God because of Jesus’ sacrifice. In today’s world, we call this family “the Church.” There is a global family of believers all around the world and there is a local family that exists right here at Coast Hills. Spending time together is a tenant of our faith. The Bible calls this fellowship, and it is the way we express our love for God as we love others. We get to support, encourage, and build each other up through the good times and bad times. So, make friends! You are family now!
FOLLOWING THE WAY OF CHRIST — Discipleship"I am the way, the truth and the life..." — John 14:6
Jesus lived the perfect life in order to satisfy the requirements of God. Then, He paid our penalty by choosing to give His life as a ransom for us. His life displays the manner of life we need to live as we choose to follow Him. In this, we need to understand His way of doing things. Jesus wants us to learn His way and then live His way. Choosing to come to church, be involved in a LIFE group, or be mentored by someone who has been walking with the Lord for awhile is a part of glorifying God. Through prayer, study, fellowship, and discipleship, you will discover the way of Jesus personally.
ENGAGING YOUR WORLD — Witness"Go into all the world and preach the Gospel..." — Matthew 28:19
One of the last directions Jesus gave was to share with others the truth we have found in Him. This is being a “witness.” Purposing to lovingly explain to your family and friends what has happened in your life is a part of our faith. Our desire is for others to have peace with God in this life in order to enjoy eternal life in Heaven. The Gospel is GOOD NEWS! Ask Jesus to give you the words and the wisdom to share your story with others to lead them to Christ.
Where to start your new LIFE?
The Book of John
The book of John is one of the four Gospel accounts in the New Testament in the Bible. It is written about the daily life, teachings, miracles, death, and resurrection of Jesus. In it, John writes a firsthand account of Jesus’ life as he was one of His closest friends and disciples. He says in John 20:31 that he wrote the book “so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have LIFE in His name.”
The book of John is one story. It has 21 chapters and takes about 60 minutes to read if you’re a fast reader. We suggest you pray before reading and take your time to read a little each day, writing down your questions, what stands out to you, applications for your life, etc. Here are some suggested plans:
7-Day Plan: Read 3 chapters a day
21-Day Plan: Read 1 chapter a day
31-Day Plan: Read the following
