In Acts 22, Paul addresses an angry mob with the grace of his own testimony. As we read about Paul’s testimony, it begs the question: What is our testimony? What do people think of when they hear our name? Just like Paul did, we are building a testimony by the way we live our lives. Proverbs 22 tells us that a “good name is to be desired rather than great riches.” With Paul’s example, we see that a good testimony is one that has been transformed by God’s grace, includes a desire for discipleship, exemplifies stories of God’s greatness, causes us to recognize our responsibility and is faithful at all costs. This is the example set for us, not just by Paul, but by Jesus — the One who has a great Name.
