On Being a Christian

February 8, 2021 | Pastor Chet Lowe

Acts 11 marks the beginning of the Church being called “Christians.” As followers of Christ were being witnesses and fulfilling their mission to preach the Gospel, they began to change the city of Antioch. Known for being gracious, missional, bold, Jesus-like, transformational, evangelistic, complementary, and generous, these men and women of the early Church became identified by Christ’s name — Christ-ians. Today, the title of Christian seems to have lost its effect, and maybe we need to look back to the church in Antioch, that we too may continue to be identified with the name and character of Jesus.
